Last year saw over 40 teams compete for a tremendous cause while helping to raise over $3,500 for an on-campus sports facility in Malawi, Africa! Instead of awarding trophies, each age bracket champion donated $500 to The Hamels Foundation. This year, each team has the chance to fundraise and help extend the lasting impact sports has on our youth's education across the globe.
The Hamels Foundation Description: The Hamels Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by former Phillies Pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi. Our mission is to change lives and improve communities around the globe through the power of education.
The Hamels Foundation assists U.S. schools and other education-based nonprofits to provide stimulating learning environments, high-quality educational programs, and necessary provisions to promote learning. Our global commitment extends to the awareness and elimination of HIV/AIDS, as well as the intervention of orphaned children to break the cycle of poverty in Malawi, Africa, one of the most impoverished nations in the world.
Since 2012, The Hamels Foundation has worked in Malawi to build a primary school (grades 1-8) in order to empower children through education. Because of you and last year’s gifts, we are able to provide students in Malawi with an on-campus sports facility and extend the lasting impact sports has on our youth's education across the globe.
This year each team will have an opportunity to access their own fundraising page to have a direct impact on the completion of Project Malawi!
Each Age Bracket Champion will donate $500 towards The Hamels Foundation & Project Malawi.
